The bowl’s depth and maze pattern are designed for dogs with longer snouts and slightly larger mouths. For very small dogs — like Chihuahuas, Toy Poodles, Pomeranians, or Yorkies — the grooves can sit too high, making food harder to reach and mealtime less enjoyable.
Smaller breeds do best with shallow slow feeders that allow easier access without extra effort. If your dog is under 5kg, look for a shallow slow feeder with wider spacing — depth is the key difference.
No, Super Feedy is not recommended for brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds.
Dogs like Pugs, French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, and Boston Terriers have very short snouts. The 6cm bowl depth and intricate maze design can be frustrating for them to navigate comfortably.
We'd rather be honest upfront than have you deal with a return. We recommend choosing a shallower, simpler bowl better suited to flat-faced breeds.
The Super Feedy Small Slow Feeder Bowl is designed for small to small-medium dogs between 5 and 15 kg (11–33 lbs) — the sweet spot where meals fit comfortably and the maze pattern slows eating without causing frustration.
It’s ideal for dogs who eat fast, have moderate-to-long snouts, and can easily reach into a deeper bowl. If your dog typically eats one to two cups of food per meal, this bowl is the right fit.
Perfect fits include breeds such as:
Small (5–8 kg): Cavoodles, Maltese × Shih Tzu crosses, Shih Tzus (with moderate snouts), Jack Russells, Mini Poodles, Border Terriers, Mini Dachshunds (over 5 kg)
Small-to-Medium (8–15 kg): Cavaliers, Mini Schnauzers, Beagles, West Highland White Terriers (Westies), Cocker Spaniels, Scottish Terriers, Fox Terriers, Standard Dachshunds, small Spaniel breeds, and similar-sized mixed breeds
These dogs fall right into the “sweet spot” — large enough to navigate the maze comfortably, small enough that a full meal fits inside.
Not suitable for:
