Before we share our favourite things to put on a lick mat, just a note, keep your caloric intake in mind - if you're putting a lot of calories on the lick mat, adjust other meals accordingly.
Spread something dense over the lick mat to help other ingredients stick and make it more challenging. Your dog will love the variety of textures and flavours. You want to keep the calorie count appropriate for your dog, so don't use too much of each ingredient.
This slow feeder bowl would appeal to a wide range of dogs, but it would not be suitable for Brachycephalic breeds such as Pugs, Boxers, Bullmastiffs, Boston Terriers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Cane Corsos, French Bulldogs, Japanese Chins, Lhasa Apsos, Pekinese, Shih Tzus, and Bulldogs.
My dog loves this contraption!
The first day we used it I left work later than usual, so by the time I got home the lick mat was soaking wet and my dog had already eaten her meal. We decided to reverse the mat for her next meal and she was very interested in it and took a long time to finish her food. Very cool product!

The massive capacity allows me to create chef like meals with enough space.
I recommend it to anyone who has a dog who inhales food. My dog has fun foraging for food and getting every last piece of food out of the feeder. This feeder has engaged my dog to eat confidently and comfortably slower at mealtimes.
